Morning After Friends and Family

Doing the happy morning dance while shaking their heads wondering if the whole damn thing was a dream and opening their eyes to a beautiful world , albeit a little less beautiful but a lot more real than the one they spent the night in.

The cradling arms of ecstasy releasing us like children back to the playground after a hug from mother.

Dried sweat and dried tears making us look like binge drinkers who'd suddenly decided enough was enough in a moment of clarity, with a taste in our mouths like vanilla and cotton.

Pupils indescriptly looking wrong as we continue to look at one another and smile... thinking rejoice, for we were there.

How many dreams can you come back from with witnesses?

The hugs now a little less natural but somehow a lot more meaningful, our awareness brightens with the sky.

A new day is upon us.
